Sept. 27, 2014, will find many of our council's best trainers at Starkville's First United Methodist Church leading targeted Basic Leader Training sessions for Boy Scout Leaders, Cub Scout Leaders, Unit Commissioners, and anyone who needs renewal of their Youth Protection Training certification.

9:00 -10:00 is Youth Protection Training This training is mandatory for all registered leaders (including merit badge counselors and committee members). Any adult registered with the BSA is required to have this training and keep it current.  Training is valid for two years.

10:00-6:00 is the beginning of Boy Scout Leader Basic Training. This training will be beneficial for all Scoutmasters, Asst. Scoutmasters, interested parents, troop committee members, etc.

10:00-2:30 is Cub Scout Leader Basic Training.  The pre-lunch session is for all Cub leaders, and the 1:00-2:30 session is for specific ranks (Tiger, Wolf, etc.)

10:00-2:00 is Unit Commissioner Training.  All Unit Commissioners should attend this training session as soon as they have become a commissioner.

10:00-2:00 will be Den Chief Training.  Scoutmasters who build their troops use Den Chiefs to introduce their troops to the local Cub Scout packs.  This is open to all Scouts who would like to serve a Cub Scout Den as a Den Chief. (This counts as a position of responsibility in the troop, just like being a Patrol Leader.)

Cost for all trainings is $10.00.  This fee includes all training materials and lunch.

Register by Wednesday, Sept. 24, to reserve a seat and help us plan our materials.

Registration forms can be mailed or faxed to the council office, and are available in our RESOURCES section on the left.
